Collection Schedule
2.
Where should I place my cart for collection?
Residents should place their cart in the street with the wheels against the curb and the front of the cart facing the street. Residents with no curb should place their cart on level ground within 3’ of street. Please make sure your cart is at least 3’ away from mailboxes or trees, and at least 5’ from vehicles parked in the street. Instructions on the proper use of the cart are included in the label found on the top lid of the cart.
3.
What if I have alleyways and cannot get my cart to the curb?
If trash and recycling service is currently being done in the alley, the cart should also be placed in the alley. If there is problem doing so, please call Republic Waste Services at 817-317-2450 and provide your contact information. They can have a manager or supervisor from Republic contact you to assess your situation.
4.
What if I’m elderly or disabled and unable to get my cart to the curb?
“Back door” service can be provided for an additional charge. Please contact Republic Waste Services at 817-317-2450 to discuss.
5.
What if my cart breaks?
Please contact Republic’s customer service center at 817-317-2450. They will repair or replace your cart.
6.
What if I no longer want my cart?
Please provide your information to Utility Customer Service at 817-427-6200 and Republic will schedule a pick-up date to retrieve the cart.
7.
Why wasn't my cart emptied completely?
If recycling large pieces of cardboard, it can get stuck in the cart and cause it not to empty completely. Rather than wedging large pieces into the cart, cut them down so they fit inside loosely.
8.
Why don't they collect my recycling at the same time as my neighbor's across the street?
Recycling routes are different than they used to be. Instead of picking up both sides of the street at the same time, they are now picking up one side of the street, continuing along a set route and then picking up the other side. So, it could be a while between both sides being picked up.
9.
What should I do if the wheels come off my cart?
If the wheels pop off, please contact Republic Services at 817-317-2450. While this does not happen often, it is an easy fix. A representative from Republic Services will come by and replace the wheels.
