How do I obtain copies of ambulance reports?
The City of North Richland Hills contracts with Wittman Enterprises to provide all EMS billing and patient records for our Fire Department Ambulance Service. If you have questions concerning your ambulance bill or need a copy of your patient record, please call Wittman Enterprises at 1-800-906-6552.

How do I obtain a fire report?
Contact the Fire Administration office at 817-427-6900 and state what report you are seeking. There is a fee associated with the report.

What is the best type of fire extinguisher for my home?
A multi-purpose fire extinguisher is best for the home. Look for the rating to be at least a 2A- 10 BC on the label. This type of extinguisher can be used on many of the common fires in the home. It is recommended that an extinguisher be installed in the kitchen and garage.

How do I request a fire safety program?
All fire safety programs are scheduled through the Fire Prevention Division. Please call 817-427-6900.

Why does a fire truck respond with the ambulance?
The City of North Richland Hills prides itself on the delivery of state of the art emergency medical services to our community. The ambulance and fire trucks are staffed by cross trained firefighter/paramedics. A fire truck is dispatched with the ambulance on many calls for various reasons. In some instances, the fire truck may be closer and can initiate medical care before the arrival of the ambulance. North Richland Hills uses very aggressive pre-hospital emergency care treatments and the fire truck and ambulance crews together make a highly efficient team to provide you with an unsurpassed level of care.

What is an ISO rating and what is the City of North Richland Hills ISO rating?
The Insurance Services Organization (ISO) is an advisory organization and the principle provider of rating and statistical information used by the insurance industry in the United States. Quality of public fire protection is one of the items of statistical information the ISO provides to the insurance industry. Under the Public Protection Class (PPC) program, the City of North Richland Hills has achieved a rating of 2 on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the most desirable rating. Lower homeowners insurance rates are available as the city improves its PPC rating.

The North Richland Hills Fire Department is required by law to maintain the privacy of certain confidential health care information, known as Protected Health Information (PHI) and to provide you with a notice of our legal duties and privacy practices with respect to your PHI.
