[ARCHIVED] Fix It Blitz

Fix It Blitz Volunteers

NRH Fire Department VolunteersOct. 20, 2021 Update:

We love NRH and all of the kind people who give their time, talents and resources to support our Neighborhood Inititive Program!

Over 100 volunteers joined us for the annual Neighborhood Initiative Fix It Blitz last Saturday to help neighbors in need with some home and yard maintenance projects. These projects included fence replacements, wood trim and siding repair/replacement, painting, and major yard cleanups. Each of the 7 projects completed not only helped a resident in need, but also made a positive impact on the neighborhood.  One of the projects completed by American Legion Post 655 and the NRH Fire Department was even highlighted on the American Legion's website

Other  groups that volunteered were City of NRH Staff, North Ridge Middle School National Junior Honors Society and North Richland Hills Baptist Church, along with numerous individuals. We are excited to continue this year’s Blitz in the coming weeks, with North Park Baptist Church and Gateway Church completing an additional 5 projects by the end of October. Thank you to all of our Fix It Blitz volunteers!

We would like to thank our generous Neighborhood Initiative Program sponsors as well: Walmart - North Tarrant Parkway, Cable Electric, Inc., American Legion Post 655, Bison Coolers, Neighborhood Pet Health Center, Marvin Smith, Christopher Gilbert, Smith Lawn and Tree and Buyers Barricades. Their donations go toward not only our Fix It Blitz, but Neighborhood Initiative projects throughout the entire year.

You can learn more about the Neighborhood Initiative Program at www.nrhtx.com/NIP. We look forward to continuing to help our elderly, disabled, single parent and veteran residents in the coming year.

Sept. 17, 2021 Post:

Make a difference in your community by being part of the 2021 Neighborhood Initiative Program Fix It Blitz on Saturday, October 16. The annual Fix It Blitz is a time of community service when volunteers unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others. It is a day to celebrate the power of people to make a difference!

Fix It Blitz volunteers make a difference by helping the elderly, disabled, single parents and veterans who are struggling to complete needed minor exterior property repairs and yard work. Projects may include mowing, tree trimming, fence repair, debris removal, light construction, painting, etc. There will be projects for all ages and skill levels. Please register online by September 27 to be assigned a project and receive your free t-shirt.

Donations are very important to the work of the Neighborhood Initiative Program as we support those who are economically challenged. Donations are used to purchase building materials, tools, supplies and equipment needed to complete home maintenance projects. We have several sponsor opportunities for those wishing to support this worthwhile cause while gaining exposure for a business or organization.

To volunteer, make a donation or see if you qualify for assistance, visit www.nrhtx.com/NIP, call 817-427-6651 or e-mail NIP@nrhtx.com.
