[ARCHIVED] Former Mayor Tommy Brown

Former Mayor Tommy Brown

Tommy Brown, former mayor of North Richland Hills, passed away on June 12, 2019. A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18 at North Richland Hills Baptist Church.

Mr. Brown served as mayor of the City of North Richland Hills for five terms, from 1988 to 1998. He is credited with helping grow the city’s park system. During his tenure North Richland Hills’ parkland tripled in size. He was instrumental in the opening of Iron Horse Golf Course, NRH2O Family Water Park, Green Valley Community Park, the athletic fields at Cross Timbers Park and other park spaces. In recognition of these contributions, in 2005 a park was named in Tommy & Sue Brown’s honor.

A resident of North Richland Hills since 1958, Mr. Brown owned and operated B&B Pest Control for 25 years and was active in many community organizations including the Northeast Richland Lions Club, the Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce and North Richland Hills Baptist Church.

You can read about Mayor Brown's life and many contributions to our community and leave messages for his family at: https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/fort-worth-tx/tommy-brown-8742729.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Mayor Brown’s wife, Sue, and his family and many friends.
