The NRH Fire Department has always been No. 1 to us, and now they have a Class 1 rating from the Insurance Services Office to prove it. The Class 1 Public Protection Classification rating is the highest score a fire department can receive. The rating takes into consideration the following areas:
1. Operations, training, and deployment which includes fire apparatus, equipment testing, training and the ability of the department to place adequate personnel on the scene of a building fire.
2. Emergency communications, which evaluates the ability to receive the call for assistance, process the information and alert responding staff, along with the department’s ability to receive the alarm with redundant communications capability.
3. The water system, which includes the ability of the system to provide adequate water at the correct volume and pressure while maintaining accurate records of the flows and pressure.
Congratulations to all of our North Richland Hills Fire Department personnel, as well as Public Safety Communications / Dispatch and the Public Works Utility Division, for this achievement.
