Average Consumption

Chart

How does your household’s monthly water use compares to the average NRH residential water customer? The chart below shows the average number of gallons used each month for NRH single family homes. It does not include apartments, commercial or other accounts.

Keep in mind when you receive your bill that it is for a Service Period that started almost six weeks prior. This time lapse could contribute to the surprise factor when a large bill comes, but it’s been recently raining. You can find the Service Period and the number of gallons you used during that period in the Customer Account Summary of your bill.

Weather often impacts the amount of water that is consumed. During long hot, dry spells consumption normally goes up, as residents use more water to irrigate their lawns and landscaping and refill their swimming pools. DFW’s average high temperatures and monthly rainfall are shown below. When looking at this data, you should compare it to the Service Period on your bill, rather than the date your bill arrived.

If you have any questions about your bill, please contact the NRH Water Office at 817-427-6200.
