After a rigorous evaluation process involving a thorough assessment of the agency's policies, procedures, facilities and operations, North Richland Hills Fire – Rescue was awarded a “Recognized” status from the Texas Fire Chiefs Association (TFCA) Best Practices Recognition Program on February 15, 2018.
This evaluation process with the TFCA Best Practices Recognition Program involved a review of Administration and Organization, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Prevention, Risk Reduction, Community Outreach, Safety and Health and Professional Standards and Conduct. After the department produced proof of compliance for each area, an internal review was conducted and all materials moved to an outside audit and review. The final step in the assessment process involved an on-site review by trained Fire Chiefs and Assistant Fire Chiefs from across Texas.
North Richland Hills is honored to be the sixteenth department in the state of Texas to receive this recognition. Through the hard work of our staff and administration, we have been able to reach this status. We are proud to share this with our citizens, and feel confident this award demonstrates our dedication to being among the best in Texas fire service.
The award presentation will take place at a future City Council Meeting (TBD), and the department will also receive recognition at the TFCA Executive Conference later this month.
