A four-vehicle crash on Davis Blvd. near Turner Terr. left three people injured, one critically, and had the roadway closed in both directions for several hours.
At about 7:45 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023, reports of the crash came into the North Richland Hills Joint Communications Center. Witnesses reported that four vehicles were involved, with multiple people injured. North Richland Hills Fire-Rescue transported three people from the crash: one critical, one serious, and one in good condition.
Crash investigators were called to map the expansive crash scene. The roadway remained closed from Cross to Turner for several hours. North Richland Hills Street Department also responded to the scene to assist with the cleanup efforts of the crash site. While the exact cause remains under investigation, witnesses reported that speed may have played a factor in the crash.
November 3rd update: Our department is heartbroken to share that the critically injured man from Monday night's crash has passed away. 21-year-old Gavin Owens of Hurst succumbed to his life-threatening injuries sustained in the four-vehicle crash Monday evening. The North Richland Hills Police Accident Investigations team continues to work on gathering and analyzing evidence alongside witness statements to have a better understanding of what happened leading up to the crash. While investigators do believe speed played a factor in the crash, the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Depending on the findings of the crash, charges could be forthcoming.
