Word on the Streets

construction vehicles performing roadway subgrade work

September 28, 2023 Update

Next week, as part of our 2020 Street Bond Program, the City’s contractor will be performing sub-grade stabilization on Dawn Drive followed by the placement of a new asphalt surface.  This work is expected to be completed by mid to late October. After Dawn Drive is complete, the contractor will then be mobilizing to Stonybrooke Drive to begin the sub-grade work and asphalt replacement. Nob Hill Drive will round out the Bond Program’s Year 3 Residential Street Projects, and we are striving for completion by mid-December. Residents on impacted streets will be notified via door hangers prior to the work beginning. To prevent project delays, residents are encouraged to move vehicles from the street on days that contractors will be working. For more information about the Street Bond Program, please visit www.nrhtx.com/2020bond

Also, next week, Public Works crews and their contractors will be:

🚧 Making curb, gutter, and subgrade repairs on the following streets in preparation for an upcoming overlay. This work is part of the Preventive Street Maintenance Program. You can find the complete project list and a map at www.nrhtx.com/psm.

September 14, 2023 Update

Let’s talk streetlights. There are thousands of streetlights in North Richland Hills. The majority, including the streetlights in your neighborhood, are maintained by Oncor. Streetlights located above traffic signals and some along major corridors like Rufe Snow Drive, North Tarrant Parkway and Glenview Drive are maintained by the Public Works Street Division. Currently, there are around 500 streetlights under the city’s maintenance responsibility. If you notice a streetlight that is out, please report it to Oncor at oncorstreetlight.com or 888-313-4747 or to Public Works at www.nrhtx.com/reportconcern or 817-427-6460. If you are unsure who maintains the light, please reach out to Public Works and they will forward it to Oncor if it is their responsibility.

Next week Public Works crews and their contractors will be:

🚧 Continuing preparations for paving operations on Dawn Drive, Stonybrooke Drive and Nob Hill Drive, which are expected to begin later this month.
