Atmos Energy is experiencing low pressure in some of its distribution system, which is impacting some residents’ ability to heat their homes. If you are without heat and need a place to warm up, North Richland Hills Baptist Church has opened its Wellness Center as a warming station. The Wellness Center is located on the south side of the church campus at 6955 Boulevard 26.
Atmos is requesting conservation while they work to get their system back to normal pressure. This includes:
• Do not use your natural gas fireplace.
• Bundle up and lower your thermostat to at least 68 degrees.
• Lower the water heater temperature to 120 degrees, because it can account for as much as 25 percent of the energy consumed in your home.
• Delay using washing machines and dishwashers.

Both the NRH Centre and NRH Library are impacted by the low gas pressure and are therefore closed today.
The good news is that the coldest temperatures are now behind us. We should be back above freezing on Saturday afternoon and in the mid-50s by early next week.
