Update: Election Results Canvassing & Oath of Office

The unofficial results of the Nov. 8 Special Election show that Blake Vaughn was elected to fulfill the vacancy in City Council Place 5. The City Council will officially canvass the election results during a special meeting at 6 p.m. on Nov. 22 in the Council Chamber. Following the canvassing, City Secretary/Chief Governance Officer Alicia Richardson will administer Mr. Vaughn’s official oath of office. A ceremonial oath of office will take place during the next regular Council Meeting on Dec. 12. 

Update: Access Election Night Results

Tarrant County Elections will be posting unofficial election results for all entities, including North Richland Hills, on the  county website.  Tarrant County Elections will post the unofficial early voting returns shortly after polls close at 7:00 p.m. Their website will be updated approximately every 30 to 45 minutes beginning about 8:30 p.m. as returns come in from vote centers across the county. The unofficial results do not include all provisional and absentee ballots.  The North Richland Hills City Council will canvass the official results for the special election for City Council Place 5 on Nov. 22, 2022. 

Special Election

North Richland Hills is holding a special election on Nov. 8 to fill an unexpired term for City Council Place 5. Candidates are: 

• Jared Ross;
• Paul Epperley;
• Blake Vaughn;
• Joey Ballard.

The person duly elected shall serve the remainder of the term, which expires in May 2023. To review each candidate’s application form, visit www.nrhtx.com/election and click on Candidate Filings/Finance Reports. You are welcome to contact each candidate directly to learn more about them. 

Several county and state offices will also be on the Nov. 8 ballot. You can look up your sample ballot at www.tarrantcounty.com/elections. 

Early Voting

Early voting will take place Oct. 24 through Nov. 4 across Tarrant County. Nearby locations include:

• St. Paul Presbyterian Church, 4517 Rufe Snow Dr.; 
• Northeast Courthouse, 645 Grapevine Hwy;

Election Day

On Election Day, voting will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Tarrant County will utilize countywide “vote centers” for the election. The “vote centers” give residents the option of casting their vote at any polling location countywide on Election Day, rather than being limited to a preassigned location based on their precinct.   Tarrant County Elections will post a full listing of Tarrant County polling locations on their website.  Countywide polling locations in North Richland Hills:

North Richland Hills llevará a cabo una elección especial el 8 de noviembre para ocupar el Puesto 5 del Concejo Municipal por un mandato inconcluso. Los candidatos son:
