Teen Court Appearances
Dress Code
Teen Court participants, anyone appearing with them (INCLUDING PARENTS), observers and all who enter, must abide by the Teen Court Dress Code. You WILL NOT be allowed to enter Teen Court if you aren't in dress code. Below are examples of clothing that are not allowed, with the ultimate discretion being left to the Teen Court Coordinator and/or the Presiding Judge. - Jeans are allowed with NO holes, NO distressed marks, NO tears
- No Shorts/Skorts
- No exposed midriff, tube tops, tank tops, cropped tops, strapless tops or strapless dresses
- No revealing clothing or exposed undergarments of any kind
- No clothing with obscene or profane language, drug or gang related illustrations
- No Sleep or Work Out Attire
- No hats/caps, bandanas
Sign In & Security Screening
Teen Court sessions for all three cities (North Richland Hills * Watauga * Richland Hills) are held at the NRH Municipal Court, 4301 City Point Dr, North Richland Hills.
Sign in begins at 5:30 p.m. at the COURT entrance of the building.
Participants will enter through the COURT entrance, located on the far right side of the building, when facing the City complex.
Teen Court participants must arrive for their Teen Court Hearing no later than 5:55 p.m.
Doors are locked at 6:00 p.m. Late entrance is not allowed.
When coming towards City Hall, you will make a sharp right turn, just past the roundabout, as you will park AND enter on the far right hand side of the parking lot/building.
No Children under 10 are allowed.
Every person entering Teen Court will be subject to screening by our Marshal and through our metal detector. All purses, backpacks etc. will be thoroughly searched. In order to expedite this process we ask that you only bring what you need for your court hearing.
Supervision
Teen Court participants must make prior arrangements to be picked up on completion of each Teen Court docket and NO LATER than 7:30 p.m. Adult supervision WILL NOT be available beyond 7:45 p.m. Teen Court participants have the ability upon request to use a Court phone to call their parent or guardian for pick up.
It is MANDATORY for a youth who received a citation, under 17 years of age who is set on the Court Docket to have a parent or legal guardian with them throughout their initial Court session and for BOTH teen AND parent to be in dress code. Since the Courtroom is not designed to hold more than 60 people, we ask that only one parent or guardian attend with each participant. Additionally, children under 10 years of age are not allowed at Teen Court sessions. Defendants WILL NOT need a parent or legal guardian to serve their jury term(s), however they will need to make arrangements for someone to pick them up upon their release but NO LATER than 7:30 p.m.
