Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering allows you to help others in the community, share your skills and learn new ones, meet new people and have fun. The City of North Richland Hills has volunteer opportunities for residents of all ages and backgrounds.
City Department / Program | Volunteer Opportunities |

Animal Services | Walk dogs, groom animals, clean cages, take pictures of adoptive pets, other projects. |
Boards & Commissions | The city’s boards and commissions serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council and in some instances they are the final body for action. |
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) | If a disaster or emergency strikes and overwhelms or delays emergency responders, trained CERT members will be will be called upon to help save and sustain lives until additional emergency responders arrive. |
Keep NRH Beautiful | Volunteers are always needed to help with beautification and cleanup projects. |
Neighborhood Initiative Program | Volunteer to help the elderly, single parents and persons with disabilities with home repairs and yard work.

NRH Public Library | Help with checking-in and re-shelving books and other materials, assist with the Summer Reading Club and annual book sale. |
Parks & Recreation | Help with special events like the Sounds of Spring Concert Series and Night of Holiday Magic. Volunteers also assist staff at the senior center. |
Teen Court | Serve as a volunteer attorney, bailiff, juror or court clerk and learn about the judicial process. |
Volunteers in Policing Service (VIPS) | Help the NRH Police Department with non-enforcement duties, allowing police officers more time to focus on crime reduction. |
In addition to these volunteer opportunities with the city, there are numerous volunteer opportunities with local nonprofit and civic organizations. Whether you give an hour per week or one day each month, you can make a difference.
