Managing Director of Development Services

Mike Curtis oversees the city's development services, including the Public Works Department and the Planning and Development Department. Public Works includes engineering, streets, drainage, traffic, water and wastewater. Planning and Development includes building inspections, development review, planning and zoning.

Mr. Curtis is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. He has a bachelor's of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master's in business administration from the University of Dallas. He is a member of the Institute of Transportation (ITE), Texas Water Utilities Association and American Public Works Association (APWA).

Mr. Curtis joined the City of North Richland Hills in 1992 as a staff engineer. He was promoted to capital projects coordinator, assistant director of public works and director of public works before being named as managing director of development services in 2008.
