Keep NRH Beautiful Commission

Keep NRH Beautiful is an affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful ( www.ktb.org). The purpose of the commission is to promote beautification of the City. The Keep NRH Beautiful Commission meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6:45 p.m. The meetings are open to the public. For more information about Keep NRH Beautiful meetings and program, please contact Debbie York at 817-427-6651.

Keep NRH Beautiful Commission programs include:

Adopt A Spot - Businesses, civic organizations, scout troops, school groups, churches, youth groups, individuals and families are all encouraged to participate in this grassroots effort to insure a cleaner NRH. By adopting a spot, you must commit to keep your spot clean of litter for one year. Adopt A Spot Brochure

Green Campus - This program is designed to reward schools that already provide environmental education programs and to encourage others to participate. It serves to educate and motivate both students and faculty towards positive attitudes and behavior concerning solid waste disposal, and to instill in them a sense of personal pride and appreciation for the beautification of school property. Application to become a Green Campus must be done yearly. This school year, the program will run September - May. Qualifying applicants will receive a monetary award to be used for future beautification projects and also a sign to be displayed on their campus.

LitterNot Leader - It is a well known fact that people are more likely to litter in an area that has already been spoiled by litter than in a litter free area. Keep NRH Beautiful encourages all residents to do their part to keep our community clean.

  • Volunteer for a cleanup event
  • Organize a group to Adopt-A-Spot
  • Put litter in its proper place
  • Put the lid on your garbage can and recycle bin
  • Remind your friends and family to LitterNot

Your business, service organization or neighborhood Association can become a LitterNot leader by volunteering for a litter cleanup event or an Adopt-A-Spot.
