Acceptable Waste
Duncan Disposal provides a "Take All" service for residential garbage collection that effectively accommodates collection of almost any non-hazardous residential waste. "Take All" simply means they will collect almost all items placed on the curb as long as they are containerized, in a can, in a bag, in a box or tied and bundled. Dirt, concrete, rocks, bricks and roofing shingles are not accepted. (These items may be taken to the landfill, or you may call Duncan to arrange a special pickup.) All materials including brush must be containerized or tied in bundles not to exceed 4 feet in length and 50 pounds in weight. If more than 4 cubic yards, the customer must contact Duncan Disposal to schedule pick up. Duncan will collect and dispose of all waste over 4 cubic yards at the rate of $10.33 per cubic yard. For large amounts of limbs a customer may also request a chipper service at a rate of $129.06 per hour - 1 hour minimum charge. To schedule a loose brush pickup, please contact Duncan Disposal at 817-317-2450 or www.duncandisposal.com.
Hazardous Waste
Collection of refrigerators or freezer units is prohibited unless certification is provided that C.F.C.'s have been removed by a certified technician. Other hazardous waste items that are not acceptable for landfill disposal include tires, batteries, petroleum products, paints and other chemicals and solvents identified as hazardous. Household hazardous waste may be disposed of at the Environmental Collection Center in Fort Worth. For more information, click here.
Recycling
Duncan Disposal also provides residential curbside recycling. Recyclable materials can be placed loose in the plastic bin and do not need to be sorted by material type (this includes newspapers, magazines and household paper.) The materials will be sorted at Recycling Plant in Arlington. A list of acceptable items that can be placed in your recycle bin is posted on the Duncan Disposal web site. Recycle bins with lids may be obtained at the NRH Utility Customer Service Office located at 7301 N.E. Loop 820, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Customers receive one bin at no charge; additional bins are available at a cost of $8.26 per bin.
Landfill
Duncan Disposal provides access to a landfill located at 800 Mosier Valley in Arlington. There is also a drop off recycling area at the landfill. The hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The facility is closed in observance of the following holidays: New Year's Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. A utility bill or driver's license is required as proof of residency. Landfill rates are listed on the Duncan Disposal web site.
Billing
Garbage service is billed with your water and sewer bill. For questions about establishing new service or billing, please contact the NRH Utility Customer Service Department at 817-427-6200.
