Congratulations to Chuck James, Utilities Supervisor in the Public Works Department, who was presented the R-SPIRIT Employee of the Year Award. Congratulations also to Senior Traffic Technician John Thorpe (left) and Police Lieutenant Neal Maranto (right), runners up for the award. The R-SPIRIT award is presented annually to an employee who exemplifies the city’s core values of Respect, Service, Productivity, Integrity, Responsibility, Innovation and Teamwork. Nominations are submitted by city employees and the finalists and winner selected by a committee of their peers.
Chuck, who has worked for the city for over 25 years, oversees the maintenance of our water distribution system including 350 miles of pipe and 22,000 water meters. His nomination stated: “Chuck is someone we can depend on to get the job done, and for that job to be done to a high standard. Chuck is the meaning of an outstanding employee. He is very dedicated and loyal to the City of North Richland Hills. He always has a wonderful attitude, and influences the people around him in a positive manner. We are very lucky to have Chuck as part of the Public Works Team.”
