Scenic City Award

North Richland Hills was recognized with a Scenic City Platinum Level Certification award during the Texas Municipal League Conference in Austin on October 6, 2016. The mission of the Scenic City Program is to support and recognize municipalities that implement high-quality scenic standards for public roadways and public spaces, with the long-term goal of improving the image of all cities. The Platinum Level is the highest level of recognition given by the Scenic City Program.

The award recognizes the efforts of many city departments including Development Services, Economic Development, Neighborhood Services, Parks & Recreation and Public Works. NRH was first recognized as a Scenic City in 2011. The certification is valid for a period of five years.

Accepting the award on behalf of the city were City Secretary Alicia Richardson, Councilman Tito Rodriguez, Assistant City Manager Paulette Hartman, Councilman Tom Lombard, and Human Resources Director Patrick Hillis.
